A catcher has to be challenged to approach every drill and every bullpen as if it's the most critical game situation he can be in.


Line Drills - Full gear no mask. Use the foul line or any stright line to do these drills.
  • scissors - 20 reps/3 sets: crisscross your legs alternating one leg in front of the other
  • 2 feet front/back - 20/3: like a bunny hop
  • 2 feet side/side - 20/3: like a skiier
  • 1 foot front/back - 10/3 (each)
  • 1 foot side/side - 10/3 (each)

Squat Turns - 1/4 (90 degree) turn every hop (squat and jump in air)
  • 10 turns (1 turn = 360 degrees)/3 sets each way

Jump Rope - in gear (time = 2 min each)
  • 2 feet
  • 1 foot (1 min each)
  • alternate feet

Arm Bands or Cans - purpose: strengthen, stretch, and warm-up throwing arm
